What is Renuvion?
Renuvion is an advanced cosmetic technology that combines helium plasma with radiofrequency energy to achieve skin tightening and rejuvenation with minimal invasiveness.
Originally developed for use in medical procedures, Renuvion has gained popularity in the aesthetic field for its ability to deliver precise and controlled tissue contraction.
This treatment is particularly effective for patients seeking to improve skin laxity in areas such as the neck, abdomen, arms, and thighs, offering a less invasive alternative to traditional surgical methods.
Dr Apostolos is fully trained in Renuvion so get in touch to learn all about the established benefits of the innovative technology.
The Renuvion Procedure
During a Renuvion procedure, a small probe is inserted beneath the skin through tiny incisions. The device emits a controlled stream of helium plasma and radiofrequency energy, which gently heats the tissue and causes it to contract, leading to immediate skin tightening.
The helium plasma cools the tissue quickly, minimizing damage and allowing for greater precision. Renuvion is performed under local anaesthesia, but also under general anaesthetic when combined with other cosmetic operations.
The entire procedure can be completed in about one hour, depending on the treatment area. The minimally invasive nature of Renuvion means that recovery time is shorter compared to more extensive surgical procedures.
Recovery and Results
Patients undergoing Renuvion can expect a relatively quick recovery, with most individuals returning to their normal activities within a few days. Some swelling and bruising may occur, but these side effects are usually mild and subside within a week or two.
The results of Renuvion are both immediate and progressive, with continued improvement over several months as collagen production increases and the skin continues to tighten.
Renuvion provides long-lasting results, offering a significant improvement in skin tone and texture with minimal scarring and downtime. This makes it an attractive option for those looking to rejuvenate their appearance without undergoing more invasive surgery.
Potential Risks and Complications
While Renuvion is generally considered safe and minimally invasive, it does carry some risks and potential complications. These may include bruising, swelling, and temporary discomfort in the treated area.
In rare cases, patients might experience burns, skin discoloration, or scarring due to the radiofrequency energy. There's also a small risk of infection at the incision sites.
Though complications are uncommon, it's important to discuss these risks with your provider and ensure that Renuvion is performed by an experienced and qualified professional to minimize the chances of adverse outcomes.
Long-Term Results
The long-term results of Renuvion treatment can be influenced by factors such as ageing, weight fluctuations and pregnancy.
Follow-ups with your plastic surgeon are recommended to ensure that the healing process is going on smoothly and address any concerns.
It is of great importance to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle, including regular exercise and high-nutrition diet, to enjoy long term results.
