VASER Liposuction
VASER liposuction is an advanced body contouring procedure that utilizes ultrasound technology to selectively target and remove stubborn fat deposits from specific areas of the body.
VASER liposuction, as all types of liposuction, is not a weight loss method but a surgical solution to get rid off stubborn fat pockets, that diet and exercise won’t further improve.
Unlike traditional liposuction, which relies on manual suction to break up fat cells, VASER liposuction uses ultrasonic energy to liquefy fat cells before they are gently suctioned out. This innovative technique allows for more precise and controlled fat removal, resulting in smoother, more natural-looking contours with minimal damage to surrounding tissues.
VASER liposuction is highly customizable, making it suitable for various body types and areas, including the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and neck.
Dr Apostolos is fully trained in VASER liposuction so get in touch to learn all about the established benefits of the innovative technology.
During a VASER liposuction procedure
We start the surgery by administering a tumescent solution to the treatment area, which helps numb the area and constrict blood vessels to minimize bleeding and bruising.
Next, a small probe emitting ultrasound energy is inserted into the targeted fat deposits, breaking down the fat cells while preserving surrounding tissues such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue.
The liquefied fat is then gently suctioned out through small incisions, resulting in smoother, more sculpted contours.
Because VASER liposuction is less traumatic to the body than traditional liposuction, patients typically experience less pain, swelling, and downtime, allowing for a quicker and more comfortable recovery.
Recovery from VASER liposuction
It is relatively quick compared to traditional liposuction, with most patients able to return to work and light activities within a week after the procedure.
Patients may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the treated areas, which can be managed with pain medication and wearing compression garments as recommended by us.
While final results may take several weeks to fully manifest as swelling subsides and the body adjusts, many patients notice immediate improvements in their body contours following VASER liposuction, with continued improvement over the following months.
With proper post-operative care and a healthy lifestyle, the results of VASER liposuction can be long-lasting, providing patients with a slimmer, more sculpted physique and renewed confidence in their appearance.
Potential Risks and Complications
While being a safe procedure, like any surgical procedure, VASER Liposuction comes with potential risks and complications. These can include infection, bleeding, haematoma, seroma and changes in skin sensation.
Specifically for the VASER Liposuction we discuss a lot during the consultation that there is a small risk for contour irregularities and even smaller risk for blood clot formation.
Long-Term Results
The long-term results of VASER Liposuction can be influenced by factors such as ageing, weight fluctuations and pregnancy.
Follow-ups with your plastic surgeon are recommended to ensure that the healing process is going on smoothly and address any concerns.
It is of great importance to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle, including regular exercise and high-nutrition diet, to enjoy long term results.
